White Sox Decline To Tender Scott Carroll, Scott Snodgress

(CBS) The White Sox announced they've declined to tender contracts to pitchers Scott Carroll and Scott Snodgress before Tuesday's 11 p.m. deadline. The two will become free agents.

The 30-year-old Carroll was 5-10 with a 4.80 ERA in 26 appearances, 19 of them starts, for Chicago in 2014, his first in the big leagues. He was designated for assignment on Nov. 25 after the White Sox signed first baseman/designated hitter Adam LaRoche in free agency.

The 25-year-old Snodgress made his major league debut for Chicago in September, allowing seven runs, four earned, in 2 1/3 innings in four relief appearances. He was a combined 6-7 with a 3.89 ERA at Double-A and Triple-A. Chicago drafted him in the fifth round of the 2011 amateur draft.

The White Sox's 40-man roster now sits at 39.
