Olt, 27, was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Aug. 31. He made the Opening Day roster but only played six games with the Cubs this season after fracturing his right wrist. He was 2-for-15 with a home run and an RBI.

In 62 games between Double-A and Triple-A this season, Olt hit .273 with nine home runs and 25 RBIs. In 2014 with the Cubs, Olt hit .160 with 12 home runs and 33 RBIs in 89 games.
