White Sox Claim Catcher Rob Brantly Off Waivers

(CBS) The White Sox have claimed catcher Rob Brantly off waivers from the Marlins, they announced Monday.

The 25-year-old Brantly hit .255 with four homers and 37 RBIs in 101 games last season at Triple-A New Orleans. He previously played in 98 games for Miami across 2012 and 2013, hitting .235 with four homers and 26 RBIs.

Brantly was originally picked by the Tigers in the third round of the 2010 draft.

Chicago's 40-man roster now sits at 40.
