White Sox Call-Up Pitchers Chris Bassitt, Eric Surkamp
(CBS) -- The Chicago White Sox have called-up pitchers Chris Bassitt and Eric Surkamp ahead of Saturday's double header with the Detroit Tigers.
The 25-year-old Bassitt went 3-1 with a 1.56 ERA in six starts at Double-A Birmingham this year. Surkamp, 27, is 1-0 with a 6.01 ERA in 23 relief appearances for the Sox over two stints.
Pitcher Scott Carroll was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte to make room on the roster.
