White Sox Avoid Arbitration With Avisail Garcia, Zach Putnam

(CBS) The White Sox avoided arbitration with outfielder Avisail Garcia and right-handed reliever Zach Putnam by agreeing to one-year deals with each player.

Garcia signed for $2.1 million, while Putnam will make $900,000 in 2016.

The 24-year-old Garcia hit .257 with 13 homers, 59 RBIs and a .675 OPS in 148 games in 2015. As it stands now, he's expected to be an everyday player for the White Sox in 2016.

The 28-year-old Putnam was 3-3 with a 4.07 ERA in 49 appearances last season. He allowed only 19.0 percent of inherited runners to score. He has a career 3.57 ERA.

The White Sox have now signed everyone, so they won't need to go to any arbitration hearings.
