West Ridge Shooting: 19-year-old man seriously injured

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A 19 year-old man is recovering after being shot in the West Ridge neighborhood.

Just before 11 p.m. Thursday, police said the victim was in a vehicle on West Peterson Avenue, when someone in a black sedan started shooting.

The 19-year-old was taken to Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious condition. 

Police cordoned off Peterson Avenue east of California Avenue. Shell casings were seen in the roadway.

No arrests have been made.
