Two Men Killed In Shootout In West Pullman

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two men who were shooting at each other were both killed early Wednesday in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.

At 12:41 a.m., a 34-year-old man sitting in a vehicle was involved in a shootout with a 28-year-old man standing in the street in the 12300 block of South Halsted, according to Chicago Police.

The younger man was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Officers found the older man with a gunshot wound to the head in the 700 block of East 111th Street, where he was also pronounced.

The Cook County medical examiner's office did not immediately confirm the fatalities.
