1 Teenager Killed, 2 Wounded In West Chatham Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 14-year-old boy was killed and two other teenagers were wounded Wednesday evening in a shooting in the West Chatham neighborhood.

Police said the victims were traveling in separate vehicles near 83rd and Stewart around 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, when they started shooting at each other.

A 14-year-old boy was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the back, and was later pronounced dead.

Two other boys, both 16, also were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center. Their conditions were not available.

No one was in custody Thursday.

Area Two detectives were investigating.
