The picture of this garbage can turned to umbrella coffin was posted recently on Reddit.
Some people commented that they have simply given up on using umbrellas in Chicago.
They opt instead for high-quality rain gear, a hoodie or a poncho.
Others offered some tips on umbrellas that actually may stand the test of a true Chicago storm.
Many of them are expensive, but it may be a better deal than destroying a half-dozen cheap ones a year.
