Weekend Forecast: 40s On Tap For Saturday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Compared to last week's bitter cold, this weekend is shaping up to be a tropical heat wave.

Last week saw six consecutive days when temperatures plunged to zero or lower, but this week has been a big improvement, with only two days when temperatures were in the single digits, and none with temperatures zero or below.

Saturday will be an even bigger improvement, when temperatures will soar to as high as 42, or 11 degrees higher than the average high for this time of year.

Sunday also will have seasonably warm weather, with a high of 35, before going back to normal temperatures through the middle of next week.
