Website Helps Voters Research The More Obscure Races On The Ballot

(CBS) -- You probably know who you're going to vote for in the presidential race, but what about for judge? Or the water commissioner?

"Ballot Ready" -- an online voter guide that started in Chicago -- is now live in 12 states. The website has been visited by more than a half a million people.

"We show you every candidate and referendum who will be on your ballot," says Alex Niemczewski, a University of Chicago graduate who works with Ballot Ready.

They'll also show you background information, the candidates' stances on issues and who endorses them.

"Our goal is for people to enter the voting booth prepared to complete their entire ballot without guessing," Niemczewski says.
