The tornadoes caused minor damage to trees, power lines and cars in Naperville and Downers Grove, according to the National Weather Service. They were classified as EF-0 tornadoes, which are described as "weak" with winds between 65 and 85 miles per hour.

The first tornado touched down in southeast Naperville at 7:55 p.m. on Royce Road near Whalon Lake Park and damaged several trees, one of which fell onto a power line, according to the weather service. The tornado lifted at 75th Street and Route 53, and lasted five minutes and traveled just over three miles.
