Waukegan Wireless Businesses Robbed Over Labor Day Weekend

(CBS) -- Two wireless phone businesses in north suburban Waukegan may have been robbed by the same man over the Labor Day weekend, police said Tuesday.

About 7 p.m. Friday, a Metro PCS store in the 1300 block of North Lewis Avenue was robbed by a man who implied he had a gun, according to Waukegan police. The man took cash and property from the business and was last seen leaving the area on foot.

About 2 p.m. Sunday, a Cricket Wireless store was robbed in the 3000 block of Belvidere Road, police said. As in the first robbery, the man implied he had a gun and took cash from the business. He was last seen leaving the area on foot.

In both robberies, the robber was described as a black man in his 30s, about 6-feet, with a mustache and was wearing a white shirt, police said.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the Waukegan police tip line at (847) 360-9001.
