Watch: Javier Baez Becomes 1st Cub To Steal Home In Playoffs Since 1907

(CBS) Cubs manager Joe Maddon loves aggressiveness in his players. That certainly suits infielder Javier Baez's style.

From the even-when-he's-wrong-he's-right department, Baez stole home straight up in the second inning of Game 1 of the NLCS on Saturday night at Wrigley Field. With one out in the second inning and pitcher Jon Lester at the plate and showing bunt, Baez got a big lead with a good jump in mind for a possible safety squeeze.

When Lester took the pitch and Dodgers catcher Carlos Ruiz threw behind him, Baez made the most of his mistake and sprinted home, barely beating the throw to give Chicago an early 3-0 lead.

It was the first time a Cubs player had stolen home in the postseason since 1907.
