WATCH: Food Delivery Man Rifles Through Packages In Building Lobby
(CBS) – It could be the newest way to rip off packages, and it's all caught on camera.
Someone orders food, but appears to get a side order of trouble. CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez reports.
Surveillance video posted on YouTube shows a delivery man arriving at a Gold Coast building. He calls for the elevator and notices packages left in the lobby.
On his way out, he takes a closer look and appears to rip open package after package.
"That is really concerning," Ewa Morgucz, a building resident who receives many packages, says of the video. "That's really frightening, someone in your building is casing out the lobby."
She suggests residents should meet delivery persons at the building entrance.
It's not known if the delivery man in the video actually stole anything. No police report was filed.
But this is clear: As convenient as it is to order delivery, you're opening your doors to strangers and putting your packages at risk.
Managers of the building did not return calls seeking comment.
