Watch: David Ross Uses Rotary Dial Phone In Promo To Garner All-Star Votes

(CBS) It's a dog-eat-dog world when it comes to earning a berth in the MLB All-Star Game via fan voting.

For their part, the Cubs are doing their best to get veteran catcher David Ross in the Midsummer Classic for the first time in his career. In a promotional video encouraging fans to fan him into the All-Star Game, the 39-year-old Ross, affectionately nicknamed "Grandpa Rossy" by teammates, attempts to use a rotary dial phone to cast his All-Star ballot.

Ross isn't currently among the top five vote-getters at catcher in the National League, though he's having a strong season in which he's registered a .735 OPS and been one of the game's best defensive catchers. Whether Ross goes or not, the Cubs will be well-represented, as they're in line to have five starters in the All-Star Game.
