Watch: Alexei Ramirez, Carlos Sanchez Think On Feet To Make Great Defensive Play

(CBS) The White Sox haven't been known for their defensive prowess this season, but shortstop Alexei Ramirez and second baseman Carlos Sanchez teamed up to make a terrific play in a 4-2 loss to the Royals on Friday afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field.

With two outs and nobody on base in the top of the eighth inning, reliever Dan Jennings induced Kansas City's Kendrys Morales to hit a high chopper just to the left of second base. With Ramirez playing farther into the hole on the pull side, Sanchez sprinted over and gloved the ball with his backhand. With his momentum taking him away from first base, Sanchez flipped the ball to Ramirez, who fired fired it to first to beat the (extremely slow-footed) Morales for the out.
