Watch: Addison Russell Makes Crazy Diving Catch

(CBS) Few plays are out of reach for Cubs shortstop Addison Russell -- even a fly ball to left field.

During the top of the seventh inning in Wednesday's game with the Pirates, the Cubs were in a bases-loaded, two-out jam. Pittsburgh right fielder Gregory Polanco hit a ball down the left-field line. Russell ran it down with a diving catch.

Russell's first step took 0.2 seconds and his run for the ball carried 107 feet, with a top speed of 19.3 miles per hour, according to MLB's Statcast service. Running from his spot at shortstop, Russell still had the best chance to make what is an impossible play for most shortstops.
