Warming Trend Continues Through Next Week

(CBS) -- Chicago could see a few spotty showers on Wednesday, but it should be mostly sunny and pleasant, and temperatures should gradually make their way to more summery conditions over the next week.

The high was expected to reach the low 60s on Wednesday, still well below normal this time of year, when it's typically in the low 70s.

That should change over the next several days, as it will get gradually warmer through the middle of next week, with temperatures possibly flirting with the 80s by the middle of next week.

Skies should be clear through the end of the week, with a lovely weekend on tap featuring temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s, and mostly sunny conditions.

Next week does bring chances for thunderstorms starting in the middle of the week, though at this point it's not looking like any of those storms will be severe.
