Villa Park Couple Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A married couple was found shot to death Wednesday afternoon in an apparent murder-suicide inside their home in west suburban Villa Park.

Officers responded to the home in the 200 block of Julia Drive at 1:18 p.m., found the front door open, and no one answered inside, according to a statement from Villa Park police.

The officers went inside and found two people who had suffered gunshot wounds, police said. Both were dead at the scene.

They were identified as Charles Dubrovin, 63; and his wife Theresa Dubrovin, 56, according to the DuPage County coroner's office.

Detective Sgt. Dan McCann said the incident appears to be a murder-suicide. Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday.

Villa Park police and the DuPage County sheriff's office are investigating.
