Video Captures Attack Of Chicago Store Clerk

(CBS) -- A store clerk in Chicago's East Village neighborhood is attacked and robbed, and it's all caught on video.

CBS 2's Audrina Bigos reports.

It happened at John Food Mart near Chicago and Damen.

Omar Quadri calls it the "most dangerous moment of my life."

The suspect walked in just after 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. He walked around, checked out the back coolers and then made his move behind the counter, where he attacked Quadri.

"He just came and started pounding at me," the clerk says.

During the scuffle, which lasted about 30 seconds, the suspect threatened to stab Quadri and threw him to the ground.

"Luckily, a customer walked in, and he's like, 'Cops are outside,'" he says.

The attacker took about $130 and ran out. Police have not made an arrest.
