Vandals Target Marquette Park Golf Course For Third Time This Month

(CBS) -- Vandals have hit Marquette Park Golf Course for the third time in the last week and a half Tuesday morning.

Chicago police say vandals and thieves have broken into several buildings on the property in the 6700 block of South Kedzie.

The previous two incidents happened on May 1 and May 10. In each incident, windows of storage sheds were broken and padlocks were damaged.

Workers reported two sets of golf clubs were stolen. The vandals also tried to destroy the security cameras mounted on several buildings and the driving range was damaged after they cut through a fence and they broke into a garage and damaged the driving range ball picker.

The sales hut also was ransacked and had its windows broken.

The Chicago Park District says $2,500 worth of items was stolen.
