4 hurt, 2 seriously, when van crashes into liquor store in West Garfield Park

Four people were injured when a van crashed into a liquor store in West Garfield Park on Thursday afternoon.

Police said, around 12:40 p.m., a Ford van headed eastbound on Lake Street collided with a Toyota sedan headed south on Pulaski Road. The van then crashed into a nearby liquor store. 

Three people inside the store were injured. Two men, ages 63 and 69, were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition. A 44-year-old woman was hurt but declined to go to the hospital.

The 54-year-old man driving the van was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition. He also was given multiple traffic citations.

The cause of the crash was under investigation Thursday evening.
