Valparaiso Police Investigating School Threat

(CBS) -- Valparaiso police are investigating threats made by a student at Valparaiso High School.

The individual making the threats has been identified and is being disciplined by school authorities.

That student will not be in school Tuesday.

Police said individuals began posting information on Monday on social media about a student carrying out the unspecified threats at the high school.

Principal Dr. Reid Amones sent a message to parents early Tuesday addressing the issue.

"In working in cooperation with the VPD through the investigation, the student was addressed appropriately and will not be in attendance at VHS on Tuesday," Amones said.

Additional police officers will be present at the high school today.
