CHICAGO (CBS) -- A science teacher at a CPS charter school in the University Village neighborhood has been charged with sexually assaulting a student.

June Kendall, 29, was charged with two felony counts of criminal sexual assault of a victim between 13 and 17 years old, Chicago Police said Saturday.

In her position as a teacher, Kendall engaged in "inappropriate acts on school grounds," with a student on more than one occasion in the 1300 block of West 14th Place, police said.

Kendall, of the 4900 block of North St. Louis Avenue, was expected to appear in bond court Saturday.

A LinkedIn account and personal website list Kendall as a science teacher at Urban Prep Academy, 1326 W. 14th Place.

Urban Prep Academies operates a network of all-boys public schools where "most of Urban Prep students come to the schools from economically disadvantaged households," according to the school's website. It also has campuses in the Bronzeville and Englewood neighborhoods.

A representative for the school did not immediately respond to a request for comment Saturday morning.
