Up To An Inch Of Snow Possible During Wednesday Morning Commute

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Forecasters say some light snow accumulation could make for a messy Wednesday morning commute.

The wintry mix that peppered the Chicago area late Tuesday and overnight was expected to turn into snow by 7 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The snow is expected to increase in coverage through late morning, making roads slippery and reducing visibility to less than a mile in some areas, forecasters said. Up to an inch of snow is expected, with more than 2 inches possible, especially in pockets of the far south suburbs.

The snow should pass through by noon before Wednesday's high temperature reaches 34 degrees, according to the weather service.

No more snow is predicted through this weekend, with high temperatures hovering in the mid- to upper-30s.
