Unifying Portraits: Moms Whose Children Died In Police-Involved Shootings

(CBS) -- A world class photographer from Chicago captures the pictures of dozens from around country, all gathering to shed light on police-involved shootings.

CBS 2's Charlie De Mar reports.

Each click of the camera tells a painful story.

"We are the only ones that know how it feels to lose a child," Tambrasha Hudson says.

Hudson's son, Pierre Loury, was fatally shot by a Chicago police officer in April. Police initially said the 16-year-old pointed a gun at officers.

Chicago-based civil-rights attorney Andrew Stroth represents Hudson.

"My perspective is, how do we share those stories so we can address what I think is the most important civil-rights issue of this moment in time?" he said.

These people gathered from across the country -- most strangers. All have lost loved ones to police.

The anguish is captured by renowned photographer Sandro Miller.

He hopes to put these portraits in an exhibit and possibly a book.
