Two Washington Park Robberies In Same Day Prompt Community Alert

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police have issued a community alert about two armed robberies in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.

Two to six suspects armed with handguns approached victims on the sidewalk and demanded property before fleeing the area, according to the alert from Chicago Police.

The first robbery occurred at 6:40 p.m. on Nov. 27 at the 300 block of East Garfield Boulevard and the second took place 10 minutes later on the 5600 block of South King Drive.
