CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man and woman were both stabbed Sunday night during a domestic incident in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responded to the "domestic-related stabbing" about 8 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Central Park Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.

The woman, 40, suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest and was listed in serious condition, while the 45-year-old man was stabbed in the arm, Gaines said. They were both taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where the man's condition had stabilized.

Additional details were not immediately available as the investigation continues, Gaines said.
