Police: Two Stabbed In River North During Fight Over Woman

(CBS) -- Two people were stabbed in the busy River North neighborhood early Saturday morning and police say it all started with a fight over a woman.

Police say that a 22-year-old man sustained stab wounds to his back and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition. A 23-year-old man was treated at the scene for a stab wound to the leg.

CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reports that one of the two stabbed was taken to the hospital. He was stabbed in the back and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

The fight happened on the sidewalk just outside Ed Debevic's near Erie and Wells shortly after 3 a.m. Neighbors describe some kind of argument and police say it was the result of a fight over a woman.

Police say the attacker is in custody and charges are pending.
