Two Shot In Chicago Lawn: 1 Killed, 1 Wounded

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two men were shot Saturday afternoon in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, on the Southwest Side.

Around 2 p.m., the men were sitting in a car at the 3000 block of West 63rd Street, when multiple offenders fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

One man, 27, was shot in the head and torso, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:26 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. His name was withheld pending notification of his family.

The other, 26, was shot in the leg, arm, torso and buttocks. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The shooting was thought to be gang-related, police said.

Area Central Detectives are investigating.
