Two More Lawsuits Filed Over O'Hare Blue Line Crash

(STMW) -- Two more people have filed lawsuits against the CTA over a Blue Line train derailment at O'Hare last week, bringing the total number of suits filed up to eight.

Elizabeth Carver and Danny Diaz each filed suits Thursday in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming they were injured while riding the train, which derailed and went up an escalator at the O'Hare stop on March 24.

Each of the two suits claims negligence against the CTA, and both are seeking more than $50,000 in damages.

At least five other women, all of whom work at the airport, filed suits against the CTA last week, as did a south suburban man who was aboard the train.
