Two Killed in Southwest Suburban Crash

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two people are dead after a head-on crash Sunday evening in Homer Township, officials said.

Arunas Augustaitis, 62, of Elk Grove Village, was driving north on Archer Avenue around 9:20 p.m. when he crossed the center lane south of 135th Street, according to Illinois State Police. Augustaitis' Porsche hit a Toyota head-on.

Augustaitis and was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Toyotoa, 36-year-old Jennifer Balice, of Lemont, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Illinois State Police were investigating the cause of the crash.
