Two Hurt In Uptown Fire

Two people were injured in a fire in an Uptown high-rise building early Thursday morning.

Police said the fire started on the third floor of an eight-story building on the 4600 block of North Marine Drive around 2:30 a.m.

Residents evacuated the building and were forced to wait outside while firefighters put out the blaze.

Two people were injured, but their conditions were not available.

It was unclear what caused the blaze.

The American Red Cross was providing assistance to residents whose homes were damaged by the fire.
