Two Hurt In Chinatown Crash

(STMW) -- Two people were hurt in a crash early Sunday in the Chinatown neighborhood on the South Side.

The crash happened in the 2300 block of South Canal about 1:15 a.m., police said.

A Ford Fusion was speeding northbound on Archer Avenue when it blew a red light at Canal Street and struck a Saab in the intersection, police said.

The driver of the Saab was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, while the 24-year-old in the Ford Fusion was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. Both of their conditions had stabilized.

Citations were pending Sunday morning against the 24-year-old, police said.
