Two Dead In Crash Near Willow Springs

(STMW) -- A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man died in a crash early Saturday near southwest suburban Willow Springs.

Jonathan Grabinski, 17, and 18-year-old Salvatore Melant were in a Ford Explorer traveling east just after 3:30 a.m. in the 9400 block of Archer Avenue in unincorporated Willow Springs, when the vehicle lost control and they crashed into a tree, according to the Cook County sheriff's and medical examiner's offices.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene at 4:16 a.m., authorities said. Grabinski lived in the 10600 block of Ridge Drive in Chicago Ridge, and Melant lived in the 4200 block of West 82nd Place in Chicago.

Sheriff's police are investigating the cause of the crash.
