Two Dead, Another Hurt In Murder-Suicide In Roseland

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two people were killed and a third victim is in the hospital after a shooting in the Roseland neighborhood that police described as a murder suicide.

James Sterling, 37, and 29-year-old Amy Holmes-Sterling, of the 300 block of East 53rd Street, were both pronounced dead at the scene at 10:26 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

James Sterling lived at 426 W. 104th St. where the shooting occurred. Police say he fatally shot his wife and then wounded his wife's sister in the shoulder before turning the gun on himself.

The wife's sister, 26, was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
