Two Dead After Bridgeview Motorcycle Crash

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (STMW) -- A man and a woman are dead after a crash early Sunday in southwest suburban Bridgeview.

The crash happened about 1:30 a.m. in the 8500 block of Harlem Avenue after a vehicle made contact with a motorcycle carrying two people, said Bridgeview Police Cmdr. Peter Kokinis, citing preliminary information.

Both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were killed, Kokinis said.

Mark E. Hulihan, 42, of the 5200 block of South Maplewood Avenue, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 3:25 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

A woman, thought to be in her 40s, was also on the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:09 a.m., the medical examiner's office said. The woman remained unidentified Sunday afternoon.

Autopsies performed Sunday found Hulihan and the woman both died of multiple injuries they suffered in the crash and their deaths were ruled an accident, the medical examiner's office said.

The investigation is ongoing, Kokinis said.
