CHICAGO (CBS)-- Two Chicago police officers were involved in a crash Saturday in the East Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The officers, ages 24 and 25, were responding to a shooting incident near the intersection of Chicago and Harding around 12:30 p.m. when a truck hit them at the intersection of California and Chicago avenues.

According to police, both officers and the 22-year-old driver of the truck were transported to Stroger Hospital for non-life threatening injuries to the face and head. All have been stabilized.

One officer was in his probationary period, meaning he had joined the force within 18 months. The other had just finished his probationary period.

Police say the civilian driver did not yield to the CPD vehicle's emergency flashers and will be ticketed for several traffic citations. After striking the squad car, the truck, which belongs to a plumbing company, slammed into the Continental bar.

Fire officials said one vehicle was leaking fuel at the scene.

A witness said hazmat crews had arrived on the scene.
