Two Chicago Police Officers Injured In Logan Square Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two Chicago Police officers were injured in a crash Thursday night in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The officers were responding to a call about 10:45 p.m. and driving southbound with emergency lights on in the 2000 block of North Western Avenue when the squad car crashed into another vehicle driving westbound on Armitage Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

The officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, Greer said.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 26-year-old man, was not injured and is expected to be cited, Greer said. Alcohol is not thought to have played a role in the crash.
