Two Chicago Police Officers Hurt In Englewood Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two Chicago Police officers were among three people injured in a rollover crash early Tuesday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

About 12:15 a.m., the officers were responding to a call in a marked squad car and traveling northbound on May Street near 73rd Street when a gray Ford Taurus struck a parked car, then struck the front driver's side of the squad car, police said.

The Taurus then flipped over onto its side before coming to a rest on May, police said.

The two male officers inside the squad car suffered minor injuries and were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

The male driver of the Taurus — whose age was not known — was also taken to Christ, where he was expected to be treated and released, police said.

Police said the driver will be cited in connection with the crash.
