Two Boys Accused Of Vandalizing Lansing Church

(CBS) -- Two young boys have a date in juvenile court after they were accused of vandalizing a south suburban church, reports WBBM's Regine Schlesinger.

The boys, just 9 and 10 years old, are accused of breaking into the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansing after services a week ago and making a mess of the place.

"It almost resembled a food fight somewhat with food being thrown about and paint was sprayed in different areas," said Fabian Newman, a spokesman for the village.

Investigators determined the two young boys were responsible and arrested the children at their homes. Newman says their actions shouldn't be seen as a reflection on the community.
