TV Pitchman Kevin Trudeau Gets 10-Year Sentence

Listen to Trudeau Sentenced To 10 Years

CHICAGO (CBS) —— The TV Pitchman king, Kevin Trudeau, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for violating an order not to lie in infomercials.

Before he sentenced Kevin Trudeau, Judge Ronald Guzman said Trudeau "is deceitful to the very core."

Trudeau had just made a speech to the judge - saying what he's been through has shaken him "at the very core."

Trudeau said he has "sincere remorse" for it all.

He told the judge if he ever writes a book or does an infomercial again - things would be different.

The courtroom was crowded with supporters of Trudeau - or "KT" as a Texas woman called him.

Another supporter had traveled from New York to support Trudeau.

An 80-year-old former Congressman from Texas had to be literally carried from the room by court security and deputy US marshals after an outburst.

He is charged with creating a disturbance.

Outside court, Trudeau's attorneys told reporters Trudeau will appeal the case.
