Truck Hits CTA Bus, At Least Eight Injured

(STMW) -- At least eight people were injured when a CTA bus and a truck collided on the South Side Saturday morning.

The crash, which involved a bus and a U-Haul truck, occurred about 11:30 a.m. at 79th and King Drive, according to a Fire Media Affairs spokesman.

CTA spokeswoman Tammy Chase said multiple people, including the driver of the bus, were injured when the truck hit the bus.

Eight people were transported to hospitals from the crash, six of them in fair-to-serious condition and two in good condition, according to the fire department. Their ages and genders were not immediately known.

Police could not immediately provide further details on the crash.
