Tow Truck Worker Shot During Argument In Elgin

(STMW) -- A tow truck worker was shot during an argument while trying to tow a vehicle early Sunday in northwest suburban Elgin.

A few minutes before 2 a.m., the victim showed up at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital with a gunshot wound, according to a statement from Elgin police.

The 45-year-old man, who was working for a tow relocation service, was trying to tow a vehicle in the 1200 block of Fleetwood when he was confronted by a male, police said.

The two began arguing and at some point, the male shot the tow truck worker, police said. He was driven to the hospital by a friend, and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
