Tow Truck Driver Struck On Stevenson Near Cicero; All Lanes Back Open
CHICAGO (CBS)-- A tow truck driver is in critical condition after he was struck by a car while changing a tire on the Stevenson Expressway.
According to Illinois State Police, a semi-truck was pulled over on the northbound right shoulder at Cicero around 2:45 a.m., and the tow truck driver was responding to help the trucker with a flat tire. Police said the tow truck driver was out of his vehicle a gray 2007 Volkswagen hit the rear of the tow truck, pushing it into the tow truck driver.

The incident took place just before 3 a.m. Monday.
The driver of the car that struck the tow truck driver was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The two right lanes of the Stevenson were closed after the crash, but reopened by 8:15 a.m.
