Too Much Cyber Monday? Here's How To Remove Those E-Mails

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Everybody is in on the marketing myth that has become "Cyber Monday."

The fact is: You don't have to buy online on Monday to get a good deal. The Internet will be full of them on other days, too.

It's the same with "Black Friday." Many deals were available before the day after Thanksgiving.

If your G-Mail inbox is flooded with Cyber Monday communications, you can choose to simply ignore them.

Here's how:

1) Type in the following search criteria into the G-Mail search bar: in:inbox Cyber Monday.

2) Click on the "drop down menu" icon, located in the upper right (next to the blue search icon) and then click on "Create filter with this search"

3) From the menu, select the option that works best for you. It might be best to try the archive option. This way, the mail won't clog your inbox but you can look into the archive folder later, just in case you want to check out those bargains from your favorite retailer.

Other email clients, like AOL for example, also have filtering options that generally work the same way.
