Tongue-In-Cheek Craigslist Posting Advertises "Soon To Be Vacant" Fifth Floor Loop Office
CHICAGO (CBS) -- There's a new advertisement on Craigslist for what the ad calls a "soon to be vacated prestigious Loop office."
The ad says it is for a "Beautiful spacious fifth floor office overlooking Washington Blvd. This prestigious office was formally (sic) occupied by Harold Washington & both Richard Daley senior & junior. The current tenant is in between jobs & preparing to vacate before the new year."
The tongue-in-cheek ad was posted by 29-year-old Matthew McLoughlin, who lives in Chicago and says he has been involved with several protests against Mayor Emanuel.
"Throughout that time we've always looked for ways to interject humor into resistance," McLoughlin said. "This is our first time experimenting with a Craigslist ad."
McLoughlin's ad ends with: "Don't miss out on this great opportunity in Chicago's historic Loop. We are accepting applications and offers at this time..."
