Tollway Installs First Steel Beams For Elmhust Road Bridge

DES PLAINES, Ill. (STMW) -- The Illinois Tollway installed the first steel beams early Wednesday for the new southbound Elmhurst Road bridge over the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway.

Eighteen beams will be installed over I-90 three nights this week as part of the Elmhurst Road Interchange Project, which will be one of the first diverging diamond interchanges on the state's tollway system, according to a statement from the Tollway.

The construction is part of the of the $3.4 billion Elgin O'Hare Western Access Project, scheduled to be completed in 2016.
