Toews Travels With Blackhawks, While Seidenberg Avoids Discipline

(CBS) Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is traveling to New York with the team Friday ahead of Saturday's matchup with the Islanders, the Tribune's Chris Kuc reported, one day after a nasty face-first collision into the boards following a hit from the Bruins' Dennis Seidenberg.

Toews is "all right," Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said after the game Thursday. He'll be re-evaluated sometime Friday, and it's not known if he'll play Saturday.

Toews initially remained in the game after the hit midway through the second period, then later left the game for good.

Seidenberg was given a boarding penalty for hit, and the NHL department of player safety decided no further discipline was needed after reviewing the hit, according to multiple reports.

At least three times in his career, Toews has missed time for a concussion.
